Q: What will my financial obligation be:
A: Our current tuition is $50 per student and caps at $100 a family. Additional class fees vary and are set by the teachers to cover class supplies- these fees usually range from $0-$10. Few classes have books which are required in order to participate in that class.
Q: What should my kids bring?
A: Depending on your students age they will need: crayons, sharpened pencils, pens, notebook paper, binder(s), and any supplies required by the teachers of your registered classes- ie. economics books or art supplies. Students should always come to class ready to participate!
Q: What do I need to bring for lunch?
A: We have a half hour break in the middle of the day for sack lunches. The facility has a refrigerator and microwave available for our use. Once a month we order pizza at a discounted rate.
Q: What will my responsibilities be if I join?
A: New members are assigned as classroom helpers. We place classroom helpers as needed, however we try to keep you with your children whenever possible (unless you request otherwise).
Q: Will I have to teach?
A: After an initial semester we ask that all members offer to teach at least one class. It is encouraged to ask another co-op member to co-teach a class with you.
Q: What should I offer to teach?
A: Most of our members choose to teach based on either something they have experience with or an interest in or something their child needs or desires to learn. Ideas are often shared during lunch or social activities!
Q: When do you meet?
A: We meet on Mondays from 9am-2pm. Our Calendar is posted on this website. If you will not be able to commit to the majority of the days we meet then we suggest you wait until your schedule clears before joining.
Q: Can we come for only part of the day?
A: Full-time membership is preferred, but we understand that is not always what is best for an individual family. You may join for as many hours as your schedule allows. Our tuition is already very reasonable so we do not offer reduces rates for part-time attendees.
